Create Your Stripe Account

    Choose 'United Kingdom' as your country

    Select 'Individual' or 'Company' (choose Individual if sole trader)

    Complete the registration form

Activate Your Account & Connect Bank

    After registration, Stripe will ask you to activate your account

    Click 'Activate your account' button

    Fill in your business details:

Create Subscription Products

    In Stripe Dashboard, go to: Products
  2. 2
    Click '+ Add product' for each plan below

    IMPORTANT: Make sure you're in LIVE mode (toggle in top right)

Create these 4 products in Stripe:

Pro Player - Monthly
Price: £7.99 • Billing: Monthly
Individual player subscription - monthly billing
After creating, copy the Price ID (starts with price_...)
Pro Player - Yearly
Price: £79.99 • Billing: Yearly
Individual player subscription - yearly billing (save 17%)
After creating, copy the Price ID (starts with price_...)
Team & Coach - Monthly
Price: £24.99 • Billing: Monthly
Team and coach subscription - monthly billing
After creating, copy the Price ID (starts with price_...)
Team & Coach - Yearly
Price: £249.99 • Billing: Yearly
Team and coach subscription - yearly billing (save 17%)

Get Your API Keys

    In Stripe Dashboard, click 'Developers' in the top menu

    Click 'API keys' in the sidebar
  3. 3
    Make sure you're viewing 'Live' keys (not Test)

    Copy your 'Publishable key' (starts with pk_live_...)

    Click 'Reveal live key' for Secret key

    Copy your 'Secret key' (starts with sk_live_...)

    ⚠️ KEEP SECRET KEY PRIVATE - Never share or commit to code!

Get Price IDs for Each Product

    Go back to: Products
  2. 2
    Click on each product you created
  3. 3
    Under 'Pricing', you'll see the Price ID
  4. 4
    Copy each Price ID (starts with price_...)
  5. 5
    You need 4 Price IDs total (one for each plan)

Update Your App Configuration

    Open: components/payments/PaymentConfig.jsx

    Find the STRIPE section

    Replace PUBLIC_KEY with your pk_live_... key
  4. 4
    Replace each PRICES value with your price_... IDs
  5. 5
    Save the file

Set Up Webhooks (Important!)

    Click '+ Add endpoint'

    Endpoint URL: https://your-domain.com/api/stripe/webhook

    (You'll need to implement this endpoint separately)

Test Before Going Live

    Switch to 'Test mode' in Stripe Dashboard

    Create test products with same setup
  3. 3
    Get test API keys (pk_test_... and sk_test_...)

    Update PaymentConfig with test keys temporarily
  5. 5
    Use Stripe test cards:Open Link

    Test a subscription payment end-to-end

    Verify webhook events are received

    Once tested, switch back to LIVE keys

Important Security Notes

  • ⚠️ Never share your Secret Key (sk_live_...)
  • ⚠️ Never commit API keys to version control
  • ⚠️ Store secret keys in environment variables
  • ⚠️ Only use test mode until you're ready to go live
  • ⚠️ Always verify webhook signatures
